Molly Carmel is the Director of Greenlight at Wilkins Center, specializing in obesity and weight management for adolescents and adults. Her client-focused program emphasizes a unique scientifically-based cognitive behavioral approach for both groups and individuals.
Throughout her career, Ms. Carmel has worked extensively with adolescents and adults in the areas of eating disorders, substance abuse, mental health and learning disabilities.
Most recently, Ms. Carmel was the founding and Senior Clinical Director of Academy of the Sierras, the nation’s first therapeutic boarding school addressing adolescent obesity. Her work has been featured on Dateline NBC, Anderson Cooper 360, The Today Show and Extreme Makeover as well as in People Magazine and the Los Angeles Times. She also served as the Deputy Clinical Director at Phoenix House New York’s IMPACT program where she conducted intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment for adolescents and their families.
Ms. Carmel received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Cornell University and her Masters Degree from Columbia University School of Social Work. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
