OTHER CONDITIONS AND ISSUES ADDRESSED AT THE WILKINS CENTER
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is a neurologically-based disorder. It results because of a deficit of the chemical dopamine in the brain. People with ADD have difficulty paying attention, maintaining their focus on a task, and are easily distractible. They may move from one task to the next without completing any of them. Adults and children may have ADD. It can become problematic when it causes children to fall behind on their schoolwork or causes adults to miss deadlines at work or to not complete tasks at home. There are several treatment options for ADD and the compassionate staff at the Wilkins Center is ready and available to help you.
